The World of Bloggers

Recently, the bloggers' site has formed some sorts of buzz in the media industry. And the person behind this is the famous blogger Xiaxue. ( those never hear of her must be newbies) In her blog, she proclaimed to the world who she feels is the top 7 disgusting bloggers.

The award winners are: Steven Lim, Maia Lee, "Ice Angel", Lao Zhao Bor, Maddox, Celeste Chen and Xiaxue herself. Let me have a brief description of what I know about these bloggers.

Steven Lim - those who have watched Singapore Idol should know the famous act he does, stripping in front of the judges during the auditions. And how he proclaims himself as world's most handsome guy! is he? You have to ask him personally why he think so. Not only what he do, what he says is also amazed and it is not hard for him to make newspaper headlines. Have to say he is a very bold person.

Lar Zhao Bor - an old woman who have the courage to admit what she is. Her looks may be what her nickname describes but she certainly has a young heart and mind. Whether others accept it or not is another matter.

Celeste Chen - the girl who grabs attention through her so-called relationship with Xu Bin (the Wu Zun look-alike) And she certainly makes good use of it to gain much fame.

Last but not least is Xiaxue herself, she is a super famous blogger and her blog postings usually create much discussion.

Doesnt think that Xiaxue uses this topic to gain more popularity. ( she already popular enough) I saying this from what I really thinks was because I dunt have any liking or anything against her. But has to say that those in her list should some sort of feeling honoured because if you are not popular, who will care about writing anything about you. Anyway, to attract lots of visitors, you have to write something amazing to grab their attention. So who cares if some feel you are a disgusting blogger or not, as long as your blog is popular, you are already a winner.

Campus Superstar - The Emerging Star

Finally, Campus Superstar has reached the semi-final stage. And what that catches my attention is a little boy by the name of Shawn that turns this otherwise dull popularity contest around. Watched him singing Li Jun Jie "Mu Nai Yi" in the revival round and that was very nice singing by him. No prize for guessing him reaching the semi-final stage. It is hard for me to believe that such a young boy can sings with such maturity and fill the song with much emotion. No wonder he got the highest score 25/30. It takes much beating for him not to be the overall winner but still it is hard to forseen how much further he will go in the future because his voice havent break yet. But still his passion and courage towards singing is still very admirable. I will certainly look forward to his next performance. Below is a photo of this adorable and talented little boy.

A Farewell Lunch

Just this afternoon just had lunch with some friends working nearby me. Two of them, Felicia and Jesslyn leaving their company. Felicia had found a more suitable job whereas Jesslyn is going further studies. Me gonna miss them for their bubbly and fun-loving personalities.

This farewell dinner was specially for Jesslyn (Felicia had left some days ago). But Felicia, who is her very good friend, rushed down from her workplace to give her a surprise. We met earlier than usual and managed to get seats. We let Jesslyn chose what to eat. Each of us bought one dish and shared. Jeremy then go and buy desserts, and with Darryl having a big appetite, they finished the food within a short while. Later, we still went and had muffins.

The lunch was a short affair and it was time to bid them farewell. No matter what, hope they be doing well in their future.

Tiong Kun and Vino ~ Birthday Celebration

Yesterday, a total of 16 people including myself went to settler's cafe in attendance of Tiong Kun's and Vino's birthday celebration. As to what I had heard, we were supposed to reach there at 7.30pm. As I worked until quite late, I tried all I could to rush over. But once reaching, I doesnt saw any of them. Looks like I had rushed for nothing. A minute later, the whole pack of them arrived.

Christopher had made reservation in advance and the tables were arranged together. Also had to show appreciation to him for making the invitations or else where do u get 16 people. We took some time to settle down, especially being hesistant in ordering the food. Managed to take some pictures during the waiting.

I decided to order fish and chip and we went with the girls and guys individual package consisting of 2 hrs free gaming and free flow of drinks. While waiting for the food, we choose games (either board or card game) to play. We divided into two groups playing seperate games. My group played with a stack of cards. The game play is simple, each of us takes turn to flip open one card and once 3 same cards appear, we have to shout "Ugly Ugly" and snatch those cards over. The person who snatchs the most wins. After a while I find this game quite boring and switch to the other group. They had just started another game. This game sounds more interesting where each team has to clear the obstacle in its path before moving on to the next. The obstacle requires us to guess the word or verse through different forms of drawing or through actions. The team that reachs the ending point wins. While we were playing, the food arrived and we ate as we played.

We didn't get to complete the game as it was to time to bring out the birthday cake. We sang birthday song to Tiong Kun and then to Vino. Vino was quite suprised because she never expected it. Here is a photo of the birthday boy and girl with the birthday cake.

We later blessed them with birthday gifts! Tiong Kun's gift included a colourful watch which we feel will look nice on him. Below are some photos for your viewing ~

Murder / Adultery / Divorce & Remarriage

Erhm...... someone says that I seldom update my blog. Usually, I try to update it at least once a week. Nowadays, after work just feel like going back home to have a good rest. Because most of the times, I feel tired.

Saturday continues another lesson of SOTM (Sermon on the Mount). it focus on some of the 10 commandments: Murder, Adultery, Divorce and Remarriage. What is written in the pharisees and scribes try to relax/loosen the 10 commandments.

Let me explain: "You shall not murder" means that murdering a human being is a capital sin, where blood must be spill from that person and this life shall be gone. Jesus teaches us that we must have righteousness that surpasses that of the Pharisees and scribes. He come to give the 10 commandments a new definition so that it may not be misled through some loopholes in the Pharisees and scribes. Thus "You shall not murder" also means that deep in our mind, we must not have hatred to someone without valid reasons, because it is a sin commited as if we have hatred in our mind, our heart wont be cleansed and we wont have eternal life in heaven. Whether our heart is pure or not depends on the ways we treat others as we ourselves expect others to teach us, such as we shouldnt be biased against certain groups of people.

"Neither shall you commit adultery" in the Pharisees and scribes means catching your wife/husband in bed with another person. But the true teaching of the law that Jesus sought to restore is that once you are married, you cannot have lust to another person, whoever else is it. Once the lust is in you, you are already considered to have commited adultery.

Divorce and Remarriage- As Christians, we are forbided to divorce and remarriage unless under the following circumstances:
- Your spouse committing adultery,
- Your spouse past away
- Your spouse after marriage is still a non-believer and she chooses to seperate with you
- Divorcing at a time where you are still non-believer

Controlling our actions may be seem rather hard, but rather than manipulating our body parts as what the pharisees and scribes says, what it really means is disregarding / disfunctioning these body parts , that is we must have a strong mentality that overcomes our body and as long we achieve it, we can be proud of ourselves being a Christian.

The service is quite interesting and meaningful. After that, the rest of us have a simple meal affair in Long John Silver at Century Square.

Sunday afternoon, I meet up with Christopher and Junguo to Bugis to buy a birthday gift for another good friend of ours. Have a hard time looking for the right gift but still find one that matches his style. And after we go nearby to eat Katong Laksa, really taste spicy but absoutely fantastic. Life is great eating this sort of stuff. Yah, this is another enjoyable weekend.

Transformers - Truly a Classic Hit

I had been anticipating this movie since the beginning of the year. Having been a great fan of this animated series since I was still a small kid. At then, I dun't know much about the story, just liked to see the good robots, so called Autobots, especially Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee (my favourite character) emerging victorious against the evil Decepticons, lead by Megatron. The bad guys alway seemed so powerful as compared to the kind Autobots, yet in the end, it is always the good guys, oops should be good robots, who win the battle.

Yesterday, met up with some guys, my usual hangout mates, Christopher, Junguo, Tiong Kun and Lionel, to watch this highly-anticipated film. We had actually planned to watch at The Cathay Cineplex, but there were only 4 seats remaining whereas there were 5 of us. So, me and Christopher walked all the way to Shaw House but the screening time was too late. I went to Bugis Junction Golden Village to check and was told that there was no screening of Transformers. Time was not early anymore and I started to panic. Also, had to mention that I coincidentally bumped into Jeremy and it was nice of him to accompany us even through he was too tired to watch the movie with us. I decided to go Suntec City movie theatre and whatever the outcome, we called it a day there. Fortunately, we managed to get a right timing there to watch Transformers.

This movie surrounded a high-school boy by the name of Sam Witwicky. Upon getting good grades and saving some money, his father agreed to pay partial amount to buy him a car. The car was quite old-fashioned and it appeared to be Bumble Bee, who was his guardian. Bumble Bee and his teammates had come to prevent the Decepticons from getting a special energy-giving cube. The bonding between Sam and Bumble Bee was very strong, which made this movie very touching. The action part was very thrilling and the CG screens are flawless. The ending was quite nice where the Autobots remain on earth as vehicles, protecting mankind. I rates this as the best movie I has seen so far for this year. It is up to "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix " to challenge it.

Here are the pictures captured from this movie ~ enjoy
